Wondering What To Do!

Dear Edgar and Everyone, (especially Wendy Jo!)

I've just come back from my DD's house after about a month there. I wasn't able to bring my mag. floor lamp, but thought my table lamp would be enough...it wasn't. So, I'm pretty much behind right now in working on Wendy Jo's piece. By mailing time, I may have a partial section of it completed, but surely not all of the section. I am so sorry to be in this place and to disappoint everyone. :[

Should I keep Wendy's piece, or send it along to finish later? What would the group, or you, Edgar, like me to do? I should say that Wendy's fabric is 36ct, 1 thread over 2 stitches.

Suzanne's RR - An Emblem of Love

I have stitched my chosen section of Suzanne's RR twice! Once was completely reversed out when I found that I had miscounted by two threads but I am happy with the result. Suzanne, this is all ironed, wrapped in acid free tissue and rolled around a cardboard cylinder but I will wait to mail on until the New Year as I'd hate for this beauty to get lost in the Christmas mail :-)

I have completed stitching my section of Deb's Emblem Of Love RR. She has chosen the loveliest pink linen and beautiful silks. I have posted this piece to Carol and hopefully it should arrive pretty soon.

Here's your update, Edgar! For everyone else...I stitched the two medallions in the middle..bird in the tree and the swan. Hope it was okay to stitch my initials in pink, Edgar!

Well, I know that this is now the Emblem of Love RR but wanted to do a quick post to say that the last QFRR is home! Here she is in all her glory...

Margaret's RR...

I have Margaret's rr part stitched and will take a pic when I return from Arkansas. Rex and I leave in the morning.

Margaret..I truly enjoyed stitching it. The red is simply GORGEOUS! I do believe I will be putting some threadworx on my wishlist to purchase..it was wonderful to work with.

I finished up my section on Wendy Jo's RR and here is a very poor snap -

This is crisp Navy Blue floss on white linen - but the snap makes it look very grey - I will get this out to Deb in the next week or so. Just a reminder that the next RR shifting is in 3 short weeks.

I have sent and received your individual packages, respectively. Edgar, I love that yours is multicolored like mine but in the darker hues. It will be fun to see all these different color choices. That's the fun of all RRs.
Suzanne, I mailed mine to you, and forgot to enclose a personal note....there were so many bits and pieces included as it was! But, I want to thank you in advance for working on my EOL and to wish you well in the walk! I hope you'll leave me a little note or something to let me know what you were doing while you were stitching this section.

Carol's Emblem of Love is now in New Zealand

Your package arrived safely - I collected it from the Post Office this morning, took it to the Auckland Hospital to show my Mother this evening and it is now safely in my needlework basket. Hopefully tomorrow night I will start stitching - I am daunted by the excellence of your work. It is absolutely gorgeous!

An Early Start

An early picture of my piece. It's ready to go now, but I'm too up against deadlines for other SALs and RRs to repeat a new pic at this time. I've changed every thread, so I hope it's not too much of a pain when each of you get to it. Included lots of directions and I'm hoping that's enough to make it simple for you.

After many months of travelling, my Quaker Friendship RR has now returned home. I know that this is now officially An Emblem of Love RR blog but I wanted to say a special thank you to all those that stitched so beautifully on this one - Edgar, Valerie, Rowyn, Wendy and Donna so - thanks guys - I love it!

My section is complete

Here is mine...I am happy with it.

Section Complete

The section I chose to stitch is now finished and I am really pleased with it. This photo is not the best but at least it shows whats done.

I had debated as to whether to stitch my initials so thanks Carol for the "permission" - that's an integral part of a round robin isn't it?! I too stitched my initials one over one. Wendy Jo please don't panic - I won't be mailing yet but I have other non-stitching committments for the next couple of weeks and wanted to get this finished first. I will post here when I mail the package off.

Carol's RR

I have now finished my section on my RR. As you can see I added my initials 1*1 and will be asking you all to add your initials into whichever section you choose to stitch! I will mail this out towards the end of August and will post when I have done so. I can't wait to stitch on the next one!

I am ready to go!

My fabric finally came in and I am all set to go! Here is my choice of fabric and thread. I went with 36 ct white edinbourgh and will be using Crescent Colors Wavy Navy.

I think I'll get a start on it today.

A start!

I made a start last night whilst re-watching 'I Am Legend'. Not the ideal movie to stitch to as it's mainly visual but I enjoyed the bits I did see. Sorry about the poor picture - the fabric looks grey when in fact it's antique white. I think this is going to be a fast stitch.

Waiting........

I ordered the chart and threads the week before last, but I am still waiting for the parcel to be sent. Lets hope it doesn't take too long. I received Edgar's breakdown of the chart and I am looking forward to starting. I have decided to go with the recommended threads for the polychromatic version on 36ct linen. However, I am making a few substitutions as the Olde Willow Stitchery threads are almost impossible to find.

At Least the Fabric and Thread!

The linen I've chosen really is this deep pink color with a lavender cast to it. It's 32 ct., Thistle Pink, from Lakeside Linens. I'm going to use Silk 'n Colors, with one green closest to you in the picture of Gloriana (Grannie Smith Green). Still don't have my chart!!! I've ordered it, but no response! Now I don't know whether to reorder it, or just wait..... Anyway, I'll meet you at the Starting Gate! :] Big Hugs, Deb/LavenderRose

A little start

Here is my little start from the other evening....

This is the lower right section. I am shifting up some of the bits so I wanted to tackle this one myself. I am very pleased with the colours.

And a start is made

Having chosen fabric and thread the next decision was where to start. After some dithering, some tacking and some measuring I decided to start in the middle! Here is a snap of progress so far - I am really really enjoying this. Thanks Edgar for inviting me on.

Breakdown chart arrived!

The breakdown chart arrived this morning - thanks Edgar! I can't wait to start but I have to finish my tiny red sampler first and I also need to get my fabric serged. Wouldn't this design look great stitched on 48/55ct linen? But don't worry I won't inflict you all with my new found passion of high count linens!

Just letting you know that my "pack" from Edgar arrived today - such quick service even to the uttermost parts of the earth! Thanks very much Edgar. This evening I made a start and am already in love with this one. This week is busy both at work and after work so progress may not be too fast but I'll try and post a photo later this week.

Hello there everyone

Hello from New Zealand. It is wet, windy and cold here - great stitching weather!

I have been invited to join the RR for An Emblem of Love and so following Carol's good example I have chosen fabric and threads and here's a photo. All other committments have been finished so I can with a clear conscience look forward to this.

Ready steady go!

I'm ready to start! I have made a working copy of the pattern and chosen fabric and thread. The fabric is 36ct antique white linen and the thread is HDF Magpie Tears 2349 (formerly Kolbart Blue that I used for Alphabets Blue). I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else has chosen.

And also to the return of my Quaker Friendship RR in the not too distant future.

Edgar's RR is finally on it's way to Wendy in Canada. Sorry to be running so late again. This one was fun to stitch too since I'd never used Vikki Clayton silk before and the variegation is so pretty.

The Last Two Shiftings.....

The next great shifting is on March 24th and the last shifting is on May 19th. That last shifting should bring every ones RR home and complete. Let me know if there are any problems and issues that I can help with.

Moving house

Hi everyone

I am moving house on 27 March.

The only RR due to come to me is my own when it is complete - so I will email Edgar my new address.

When is the next posting deadline? I have Valerie's RR which I will stitch on soon and send on to Donna.

Edgar's RR in SF

Edgar's RR is in SF but not home. I think it's so funny that his RR is so close to home...just up the highway really but will head to another country before heading back to SF! I received the RR from Carol and will start it this week hopefully. It'll head to Wendy once my part is complete.

A smokin' needle!

My needle has really been smokin' since I received Edgar's RR and I have already finished my section! And it's in the mail to Valerie. Sorry for the creases but it was iron it and miss the Post Office or take a picture and mail it now. I chose the latter.

I think that Edgar's RR is the last one I have to stitch on so now I have to wait patiently for mine to come home.

Rowyn's RR in the Mail

Just a quick post to let everyone know that Rowyn's RR is in the mail to Wendy in Canada. Should arrive in one week. I absolutely love the effect of the Needles Necessities thread! It was a lot of fun to stitch on. Here is what it looks like so far. Sorry for the poor picture...late night under poor lighting but I wanted to get it in the mail this morning.

Valerie's RR - and the next great Shifting - Feb. 3rd

I finished up Valerie's RR last night - and it was a dream to stitch. The silks where just wonderful - and the 36 linen is really great - Here is a snap of the piece as it stands now -

I will get it in the mail to Rowyn tomorrow - 1/29.

The next great shifting is upon us - Next Tuesday February 3rd to be exact. I know that Donna and Wendy have their finished pieces home - Woo Hoo to everyone for doing a super job!! There are still 4 RR's out there, Valerie's I have but will be mailing - If those with the other three RR's could leave a comment on this post to let me know who has which I would appreciate it. If there are any problems or concerns just let me know!!

Wendy's RR is Complete!!

Just a quick post to show that I've finished stitching on Wendy's RR on Sunday and it is now complete! It looks really great with the varying colors of blue and purple. I will be putting this in the post on Tuesday so it can make it's journey to Canada.
Now, I only have one RR left in my possession which is Rowyn's. I think I can actually send it on by the deadline which I think is February 3rd? I'll be starting on hers tomorrow. It will feel really good to be caught up now! Yay! :)

Wow! I got my Quaker piece in the mail today! OmGosh, it's totally awesome! I can't wait till I can get this framed. Thank you to everyone who stitched this piece. Having a great group of stitchers makes for a super Round Robin!

It's in the Mail!

Miracle of all miracles...I finished Donna's RR! Let me tell you, those Devil's horns are hellacious! But all in all, a very fun stitch and I went and placed Donna's completely finished RR in the mail this morning! Woo! How exciting! I would attach the photos here but *the boy* is holding my photos hostage on his camera. He just does not understand my urgency when I say that people want to see the finished product posted especially after I've reminded him at least 20 times already. I don't know how you married folks do it!

Hello Everyone...just a quick note to say that Rowyn's RR landed safely in San Francisco. I am currently working on Donna's RR and it will be done and in the mail by Saturday. I will post again with picture once I am finished with it and it's been posted.

I mailed Rowyn's RR to Valerie this morning. I hope it doesn't take too long to get there. Two packages I sent to the US on December 13 (with those little crackers in them) have still not arrived - I hope they are still on route and are not lost!
